Overview :

This course explains how to plan for, implement and manage the ongoing operations of the system. Emphasis is on security, system availability, backup and recovery, system software management and problem determination. You are also introduced to the architecture and terminology of the iSeries.

Who Should Take This Course?

Data processing managers and others responsible for implementing, managing security, system backup and recovery, system software and problem determination. This course is not recommended for operators.

What You Are Taught:

After attending this class, the student should be able to:

  • Explain the components of iSeries security, such as user profile, group profile, authorization list, adopted authority and how they participate in security
  • Develop a security plan for your iSeries installation
  • Describe the facilities available to audit security on an iSeries
